April 8, 2024
11:00am - 7:00pm
Witness a once-in-a-lifetime experience right here at Blue Barn Cidery!
On April 8, 2024, parts of the country will experience a full solar eclipse. Lucky for us, Blue Barn will be in the direct path of the total eclipse! The “path of totality” is only 115-mile wide, so places that will experience the total solar eclipse are limited. Experience the total solar eclipse with us and enjoy live music, kitchen specials, baked goods & more!
Solar eclipse glasses will be available (while supplies last).
What is an eclipse?
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun and the Moon blocks the Sun for a viewer on Earth. The Moon lines up perfectly to fully obscure the Sun.
What to expect?
Most people who have seen a total eclipse have described it as the most spectacular natural event they have ever witnessed.
Since looking directly at the Sun can cause permanent eye damage or even blindness, special eclipse safety glasses must always be used during a solar eclipse (sunglasses are not safe). Blue Barn Cidery will have solar eclipse glasses will be available.
The map below shows the path of totality over the Rochester area. The pink location mark is Blue Barn Cidery.
