POSITION: LINE COOK

BRIEF OVERVIEW

Blue Barn Cidery seeking a motivated team member who has the skills and drive to assist in the success of our growing Tasting Room in Hilton, NY as a Line Cook. Candidates must be professional, hard-working, and able to handle multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will work as an integral member of the kitchen team to ensure dishes are delivered to the customer efficiently, and correctly. This position requires an organized, self-motivated, and disciplined individual who is focused on the customer’s experience, and the success of the team as a whole.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be punctual (show up for work on time as scheduled)

  • Have a positive attitude and be committed to the success of the kitchen team as a whole

  • Confident cooking on a very fast paced line

  • Exhibits professionalism during staff and customer interactions

  • Preference given to candidates with three or more years of successful restaurant experience

  • ServSafe Certified preferred

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

  • Must be 21 years old or older with a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation

 

SALARY & HOURS

  • $14-$17/hour depending on experience plus tips and bonuses

  • Must be available 30-40 hours per week including some evening hours, some weekend hours, and occasional holidays

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Executive Chef and Kitchen Team to develop new menus and specials

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area including setting up and closing down the kitchen line and prep spaces, washing and putting away dishes, and sweeping/mopping floors.

  • Prepare the kitchen team for success by performing food prep and cleaning prior to busy hours

  • Assist team members in completion of inventory, receipt of deliveries, and restocking of inventory in appropriate locations to maintain an organized work space

  • Assist in coordinating and executing hospitality events such as fundraisers, vendor events, and annual festivals

  • Maintain clean and organized dry storage, coolers, and freezers

  • Work as a member of a team to ensure all guests are provided a wonderful dining experience
