POSITION: INTERN - WEDDINGS & EVENTS
BRIEF OVERVIEW
Blue Barn Cider Corp. is the parent company of Pomona at Blue Barn, a leading venue in the Rochester, NY events market. Pomona opened in 2019 and by the following year was voted Best Wedding Venue in Rochester. As part of a rapidly growing company, Pomona at Blue Barn is taking on qualified interns in 2022 with the potential to earn full-time employment. Applicants should be in their 3rd or 4th year of a college program, or already possess a degree in hospitality, business, public relations, interior design, or marketing. Applicants will work directly with wedding coordinators and clients to design, plan, and execute weddings and private events.

SALARY & HOURS
Wedding & Event Interns can expect to earn $13-15/hour depending on experience and must be available for a minimum of 25 hours per week. Up to a maximum of 40 hours per week available for motivated applicants.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
An ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of event planning and client management.
The intern accepted for this opportunity can expect to learn interprofessional collaboration as he or she navigates the intricacies of the Rochester wedding market and gains first-hand experience working directly with clients.
INTERN EXPECTATIONS

Complete venue tours independently.

Create customized floor plans and timelines for weddings and events.

Answer client and vendor emails and calls efficiently and effectively.

Learn to use Pomona CRM to generate invoices and contracts.

Direct and communicate with vendors prior to and during events

Execute a timeline and address any changes quickly and efficiently

Work with venue coordinators to setup and tear down weddings/events according to the client’s established design plan

Post-wedding/event follow-up with clients to ensure satisfaction
In addition to the expectations above, the Intern will participate in the planning and execution of the following events based on the internship time frame selected.
